Productivity501 has some good insights into personal productivity, blowing away some of the common myths about working hard instead of working smart.

Take Work Less, Accomplish More. The general American belief is that you should be paid by the hour: even if you’re salaried, you probably think of yourself more as putting in X hours rather than accomplishing X things on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. It’s how we’re trained. But it’s an unproductive attitude.

If he went slow it would be easier and he’d make more money. If he worked quickly, it would be harder and he’d make less.

It effectively argues the case that anyone accomplishes more by setting a task goal rather than a time goal. This may not help you in your current job, but what about when you’re working for yourself, or employing others? What a simple, revolutionary way to get an edge on the competition?

While you’re at the site, don’t forget to submit your email for a chance to win their free iPod Shuffle contest, and to receive email updates of future posts. Other prizes include a $5 Amazon gift certificate, a $25 Apple Music Store gift certificate. You only have to stay subscribed to email updates long enough to win (though, getting an occasional email update from a good site doesn’t sound too objectionable).
