Theming for SEO

Seo Themes – Does Your Template Help Or Hurt Your Seo?

Disclaimer: You can hurt your seo by trying to make your blog seo friendly (like changing your url structure without redirects) and I’m no expert, so take the video and advice with a grain of salt and modify at your own risk.

YES, your template can help or hurt your seo.

Very true. While I don’t think you should lose sleep over making your theme uber-SEO-friendly, it’s a good idea to avoid simple issues like the ones Mark covers.

I commented on the link issue over there, because that was news to me. I mentioned that one of my sites violates the 100 links to a page rule because people have requested a LOT of tags and categories over the years. I would never put the SE’s rules ahead of actual visitor requests (and you’d think the SEs would filter out internal links anyway). And Mark does point out that you should be more concerned about content than SEO themes, anyway – I agree.
